WALES

                                                                 Brecon Beacons

Tips: We crossed the Channel with “Le Shutle”, after that a couple of hours by car and you are in Wales!

Maps: You can buy suitable maps everywhere in the region.

Accommodation:  Sometimes, at Easter, a problem. “No vacancies” at the plates in the gardens. But, a little site-step by taxi or bus to the next village, off route, and suddenly plenty “vacancies”.

Easter 1997: a round walk through the Brecon Beacons, the typical sceneries of Wales.

Spectacular mountain ranges, distinctive uplands formations. Nowadays a National Park.

Height: 100-820m.

Day 1: Pontypool - Abergavenny

Day 2: Abergavenny - Talgarth

           ( partly bus)

Day 3: Talgarth - Brecon

Day 4: Brecon - Merthyl Tydfil

Day 5: Merthyl Tydfil - Aberaff

Day 6: Aberaff - Pontypool

On the route: Wales at its best! The colors, old Celtic remains, moss, a rich flora and fauna, Usk-valley (also the name of another famous walk-way) and the great panoramas.
